Induction about Philippines-OAD

St. Joshep- Patron of the Order Pray To The Holy Spirit

Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit,
that I may think what is Holy.

Guide me, O Holy Spirit,
that I may realize, what is Holy.

Attract me to you, O Holy Spirit,
that I may love what is Holy

Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit,
that I may defend what is Holy.

Defend me, O Holy Spirit
that I may never lose what is Holy. Amen

On July 29, 1994 a new chapter of the mission of the OAD had it’s beginning: the General Superior Fr. Eugene Cavallari accompanied by two Filipino simple professed brothers, Fra Libby Danos and Fra CrisSuan arrived in Cebu, Philippines. On July 4, Fr. Luigi Kerschbamer after 17 years of missionary work in Brazil joined them. For three weeks they enjoyed the kind hospitality of the Recollects of USJ-R. On August 21, before Fr. General left back to Rome they transferred to their own house and on the same day the first aspirants joined them. When in October two Filipino brothers went to Rome to continue their theological studies the aspirants were already a group of seven. Fr. JandirBergozza arrived from Brazil on January 1995 followed by Fr. GilmarMorandim on September of the same year. June 5, 1995 a group of postulants transferred in the compound of Tabor Hill and the novitiate life begun on July 9 with 16 novices. The aspirants continued their community life in the Banilad house studying with the SAP in Talisay, the following year they transferred to USJ-R. After three years in Banilad the house was requested back by the owner and a new a better one was offered in the Sunny Hills Subdivision where the novices transferred. With the arrival of the two Filipino priests already ordained on the Pentecost day 1997 a new formation community had been opened in Butuan City dedicated to the Divine Mercy and St. Augustine. More than one hundred brothers embraced the OADcharism.

On July 1, 1998 the three communities in the Philippines had been elevated as a delegation and the different phases of the development of Tabor Hill are still on-going.

Now with the Divine Providence the OAD Novitiate House is shifted to a beautiful place near Ormoc City, Mount Zion. The Aspirants shifted to the Lower Tabor House. By God’s Mercy Tabor Hill is developed as a place of Divine Experience. A Retreat House welcomes everyone to have a God experience and say together with St. Peter, “Lord, It is nice to be Here.” (Lk. 17:4) The long awaited dread of OAD fulfilled with the completion of the building for the Theology Studies now St. Monica Institute of Religious Studies (SMIRS) houses hundreds of students not only from OAD but also from other congregations. At the top of the SMIRS building there stands magnificently 33 meters high Millennium Cross overlooking the Cebu City. With the same Grace and Mercy of God OAD has contributed 50 priests for the Church in Philippines with the year 2010.

With the expansion of the Communities in Philippines, the OAD delegation of Philippines felt the need of sending Missionaries to Indonesia, Vietnam and Myanmar. In this new endeavor, by the grace of God in Indonesia another community was Canonically erected in the year 2010.
